Chuqiao Li (Chloe) is a multidisciplinary artist who works with paper, artist’s books and printmaking. Her art focuses on individuals’ human condition in a totalitarian state. Her current work explores the paradoxical relationship between individual and national identity.

Chuqiao has exhibited nationally and internationally, including solo and selected group shows in the United States, China and France. She held her solo exhibition Is Barbarism With a Human Face Our Fate? (2022) and The Ambiguous Self (2021). Her artist’s book was exhibited in On Paper: Printmaking, Book Arts & Beyond at Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center (2021). Her work has been collected by Dolphin Press and Print (2019).

With the belief that art does not only exist in the studio, Chuqiao also did public art, designed and taught book binding and printmaking workshops in Beijing, Shanghai and New York.

Chuqiao is a current MFA in Visual Arts candidate at Columbia University School of the Arts. She received a BFA in Printmaking with a minor in Book Arts from Maryland Institute of Art (MICA) in 2021. She is also a current fellow at the LeRoy Neiman Center for Print Studies.
