I documented every national flag installed in public that I encountered in daily life in China, for a month. Then I cut each of them out from its background, stored it into its archive. Some flags were installed by the state, some were by individual, some we could not tell. So in terms of patriotism and national identities, what we can say? What we cannot say? How much are installed by the state, how much by individual, how much we cannot tell?
